Chinese Garden, Portland

These snaps are of Portland Chinese Garden. Garden includes nine buildings and more than 500 species of plants and a lake in the middle. The garden, which is called Lan Su Yuan in Chinese means "Portland Suzhou Garden", also known as the "Garden of Awakening Orchids". There are 5 Elements in a Chinese Garden, Stone, Water, Plants, Architecture and Literature. These 5 Elements are used in the Portland Chinese Gardens in order to balance nature with humanity. The Gardens take up one city block in Portland’s Chinatown, making this the largest Classical Chinese Garden outside of China. Last two snaps shows the view of Portland downtown and bridges.

Rose Garden, Portland, Oregon

These snaps are of Rose Garden, Portland, Oregon taken in the month of June 2008. This time of the year is the best time to visit the garden. The Portland Rose Garden is one of the oldest continually running rose test gardens in the United States and throughout the world. The Rose Garden Portland Oregon features multiple gardens with many kinds of flowers, though of course roses are the most prominent. The garden features over 7,000 plants every year, representing over 500 varieties of roses and botanicals.The last picture shows the clear view of downtown Portland on a beautiful summer day and the tall building is near where my place of work is.

Portland Rose Festival

These snaps are of Portland Rose Festival Parade taken in the month of June 2008. The Portland Rose Festival is an annual civic festival held during the month of June in Portland, Oregon. The Portland Rose Festival Grand Floral Parade is the second largest all-floral parade in North America and the single-largest spectator event in Oregon. More than 500,000 spectators line the 4.3 mile parade route which begins inside the Memorial Coliseum and continues through Downtown Portland
